One of the things that greatly affects the replayability of the triangle strategy is its multiple endings. These endings are formed based on the choices you make early in the game.
The problem is that it’s hard to know what choices you have to make to get a definitive end in the first play.
That is why in this guide, we will talk about the branching paths of Triangle Strategy and decide what is the best path to take. Let’s get started.
To start, the triangle strategy has four different endings. Three of them are considered “normal” endings while the others are “true endings”. If you’re wondering, you can only unlock the fourth ending by making specific choices in your game.
Here is a brief overview of each of the endings:
- Benedict’s End – This ending sees Serenoa become Glenbrook’s heiress. To achieve this end, you have to agree to Benedict’s plan and become allies with Aesfrost. This will prompt Roland to leave your group.
- Frederica Ending – For this one you have to go with Frederica, causing Benedict to leave and stay in the Wolffort Demene.
- Roland Ending – As the name suggests, you have to follow Roland’s plan. This will cause Frederica to leave the party.
- The real ending – This is a little complicated, but the gist is that Serenoa is trying to come up with a solution that can benefit everyone on the team. As such, none of them will leave your party and each will lead their own party.
The best way to proceed
Taking the best route means that you will be able to finish your game in the most effective way. You will eventually get to the point where you have multiple paths to choose from for the end.
Note: This is a heavy article, so if you are playing the game for the first time and don’t want to get spoiled, I would advise against reading this.
However, we will not cover a specific end. Instead, we’ll just look at the branching paths you’ll encounter. At the same time, choose the best methods that you can take. here they are:
In these chapters, your choice will be between Aesfrost and Hyzante. Fortunately, your choice won’t matter much at this point because the point will come back to you later. However, each of these options will give you access to a recruitable character to join your team.
Personally I would go to Aesfrost to see your in-laws and get Rudolph Mueller, a strong archer who could be a good addition to your team. Going to Hyzante allows you to recruit Corentine Jenner who has a magical ability to use ice magic.
In Chapter Seven, you have to decide whether to ditch Prince Roland or stand up for a challenge. The best decision for this is to refuse to give up on Roland and instead defend him. Doing so will lead you to face General Avlora’s army made up of a lot of Asfrust soldiers.
On the other hand, if you choose to abandon Roland, you will have to face the Falkes domain and fight Landroi. It should be noted that your choice in this part will not affect your branching path much. This is because your paths will simply converge later.
Once you reach Chapter 9, you will be faced with a choice between illegal salt smuggling which is Minister Sarsali’s trade, and exposing the illegal salt trade. If you sadly choose to help, you will deliver the salt that will then take you to Aesfrost.
On your way, you will be ambushed by Sycras near Twinsgate. This choice is really important if you want to hit the road in Chapter 10 where you will be delivering the Salt to Svarog.
After that, you will have to ask for his help, but in order to do this, you will be faced with two options. The first is to reveal Roland’s true identity to him. This will allow you to recruit Svarog as an ally later on. The second is to hide Roland’s true identity which will make you fight on the battlefield.
Meanwhile, if you go for the other option of exposing Sorsely’s illegal salt trade, you need to gather evidence. Not gathering enough evidence will force you to fight in trial by fight.
In Chapter 11, you have to decide whether to defend or give in to Roselle. If you choose the first option, you can then recruit Trish to your team. On the other hand, if you choose the second option, you will instead get Travis. Onward until chapter 13, the choices you make at this point will not have a real impact on the story.
This chapter presents you with three different options. The first is to head to Walfort which will allow you to recruit Milo.
The second thing that you have to do is to survive in the city of the crown which unlocks Cordelia for you as a recruitable character. The third is to investigate the village of Roselle which will then allow you to recruit Travis or Trish to your party.
As the final chapter of the game, chapter 17 is where you make the biggest decision yet. If you want to get the real ending, you need to go with the Benedict, Frederica or Roland plans.
Regardless of your choice, it will eventually lead to the end of the game. If you can get the real ending, you can recruit General Avlora to your party.
